Job Requirements
- Housekeeping experience required
- Familiarity with proper handling/disposal of infectious waste
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as buffers, extractors, wide area vacuums, and wet vacuums
- Ability to converse and communicate verbally in English
- Ability to work effectively with team members, patients, and visitors
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of designated information
- Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and infection control guidelines
- Must be covered by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement with SEIU UHW
Job Qualifications
- Housekeeping experience utilizing basic housekeeping practices and procedures
- Knowledge of proper handling and disposal of infectious waste
- Experience with acute healthcare settings
- Ability to communicate verbally in English
- Ability to work tactfully and effectively with team members, patients, and visitors
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive issues and materials
Job Duties
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, common areas, and other areas of the facility
- Follow established cleaning and disinfection protocols and procedures
- Collect and dispose of waste, biohazardous waste, and linens
- Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms and common areas
- Respond to requests for cleaning services from healthcare staff
- Operate heavy-duty cleaning equipment such as buffers, extractors, wide area vacuums, and wet vacuums
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards to ensure a sanitary environment
