Job Requirements
- Eighth grade education and ability to read and write
- No high school diploma and or no GED required
- No experience required
- Ability to work evening shifts
- Must comply with all safety and waste handling protocols
- Ability to access secure medication supply areas for job duties
- Availability to perform physical tasks including moving furniture
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning procedures
- Must demonstrate competency by end of orientation period
- Ability to report equipment repairs and maintenance needs
Job Qualifications
- No certification, competency or license required
- Ability to demonstrate competency through initial orientation and ongoing validation
- Ability to maintain and document all applicable required education
- Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations
- Understand and comply with company attendance policy
- Ability to participate in continuous quality improvement activities
- Perform work in alignment with the mission and strategic plan of the organization
- Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures
- Competency in using cleaning equipment and technology applications
- Ability to interact effectively with patients and staff
Job Duties
- Dust mop and wet mop hard floor surfaces with disinfectant solution according to department floor maintenance procedures
- Complete proper cleaning and disinfection procedures according to the assignments and or area
- Interact with patients and patient environment while performing duties
- Remove waste following the proper Waste Handling and Waste Removal procedures and safety protocols
- Engagement with the department goals for improvement of quality to include feedback and knowledge of current status of measured goals
- Remove wax finish from hard floor surfaces, reapply wax finish to hard floor surfaces according to department floor maintenance procedures
- Buff hard floor surfaces to maintain appearance
- Vacuum carpet using conventional vacuum cleaner or large industrial vacuum cleaner
- Buff carpet as required per predetermined schedules and areas not scheduled as requested
- Extract carpet/furniture as required per predetermined schedule and areas not scheduled as requested
- Have knowledge and skill to determine what supplies are needed and how to use requested cleaning supplies
- Use iPod applications for patient room discharge cleaning to report timely for patient flow system
- Report equipment repairs needed and clean equipment after use upon return to the department
- Set up meeting rooms per request of schedule
- Perform duties as required for Environmental Services Tech responsibilities
- Move furniture as requested
