Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in environmental services or healthcare cleaning preferred
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and push or pull equipment regularly
- ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- availability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings or holidays
- proficiency in English language
- basic computer literacy
Job Qualifications
- strong communication skills including ability to read, write and speak English
- basic computer skills
- knowledge of differences between levels of disinfection and ability to perform low and intermediate level disinfection
- ability to operate cleaning equipment and machines
- capability to explain disinfection processes orally or in writing
- ability to work independently
- respectful communication and listening skills
Job Duties
- maintaining safe and clean environments for patients, staff, and visitors by primarily cleaning procedural areas established by the department
- providing excellent customer service when working with patients, visitors and other staff members
- applying industry knowledge in cleaning specific departments such as the emergency department, operating rooms, and other unique procedural areas
- performing low and intermediate level disinfection according to required standards
- operating necessary equipment and machines
- communicating openly and respectfully with coworkers and team members
- working independently without close supervision
