Job Requirements

  • High school grad or equivalent preferred
  • 1 plus years in a medical office preferred
  • Ability to read comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Strong communication skills including ability to read write and speak English
  • Basic computer skills including operation of standard office software
  • Ability to use specific systems relevant to departmental operations
  • Must be able to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets product labels various reports and perform simple arithmetic
  • Full knowledge of basic environmental duties
  • Understanding of medical terminology ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 coding

Job Qualifications

  • High school grad or equivalent preferred
  • 1 plus years in a medical office preferred
  • Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) preferred
  • Knowledge of environmental services equipment cleaning practices and chemicals preferred
  • Ability to read comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Strong communication skills including ability to read write and speak English
  • Basic computer skills including operation of standard office software
  • Ability to use specific systems relevant to departmental operations
  • Full knowledge of basic environmental duties
  • Understanding of medical terminology ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 coding

Job Duties

  • Clean assigned patient and public areas daily including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces
  • Demonstrate complete knowledge of infection control isolation procedures and proper operation of cleaning equipment
  • Document all work performed
  • Stock paper items cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated
  • Collect and stage soiled linen for pick up
  • Access ancillary units restrooms offices in assigned areas
  • Clean and disinfect areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards
  • Dispose of normal and biohazardous waste
  • Utilize cleaning/trash cart and other janitorial supplies
  • Utilize Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed throughput using hand-held technology for tracking
