Job Requirements
- Possess the necessary physical requirements, with or without the aid of mechanical devices, to safely perform duties including lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 pounds
- Climbing stairs
- Performing tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling and walking significant distances
- Working in confined spaces
- Working within extreme temperature ranges
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including Monday - Friday, 4:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. shifts
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record if driving is required per university underwriting guidelines
- Ability to read and write and comprehend written and oral instruction
- Ability to use personal computer, cell phone, tablet or other device with limited training
- Ability to utilize email programs and applications necessary to perform job duties with limited training
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Ability to read and write and be able to comprehend written and oral instruction
- Ability to use personal computer, cell phone, tablet or other device with limited training
- Ability to utilize email programs and applications necessary to perform job duties with limited training
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good interpersonal, organizational and prioritization skills
Job Duties
- Performs a variety of routine and major professional cleaning duties in public and private spaces of the university
- Responds to urgent cleaning needs as a result of spills or accidents
- Adheres to established schedule to maintain cleanliness standards
- Uses professional cleaning products, equipment and techniques
- Interacts with customers, visitors, students, coworkers and others in a friendly, helpful and professional manner
- Assists other team members with daily work and special projects
- Uses assigned communication device to read and respond to texts, emails and service requests
