Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred one year experience in environmental services or similar
- Proficient communication skills in English
- Ability to work all assigned shifts including day and night as scheduled
- Must be able to perform physical cleaning tasks
- Ability to use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely
- Must follow all hospital policies and safety regulations
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Willingness to participate in required training and continuing education
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One year of related experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to perform assigned duties safely and effectively
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Customer service skills with positive communication principles
- Proficiency in using cleaning equipment and chemicals safely
- Ability to multitask and meet designated time frames
- Ability to access and utilize departmental and hospital information systems
- Ability to positively interact with patients, families, and staff
Job Duties
- Interact in a positive, professional manner with patients, family and staff
- Actively participate in meetings, huddles and team communications using positive language
- Promote a positive work environment and contribute to a team-focused unit
- Respond promptly to requests for directions and information from patients, staff and visitors
- Perform efficient room cleaning ensuring timely patient admissions
- Follow department processes for room cleaning and discharge inspections to meet cleanliness standards
- Achieve discharge, daily room cleaning and area turnaround times as assigned
- Track and report safety and repair needs during discharge activity
- Follow all policies, procedures and safety rules including infection control and OSHA standards
- Communicate and document facility or patient-related issues to management
- Use and store chemicals, supplies and equipment appropriately
- Manage time effectively to prioritize daily tasks and minimize overtime
- Participate in continuing education and in-service programs
- Contribute ideas to improve department processes
