Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- one to two years experience in a health care setting preferred
- ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting between 40 to 80 pounds
- ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and use ladders without restriction
- ability to push and pull heavy equipment, beds, stretchers and wheelchairs
- compliance with all safety requirements including proper handling of hazardous and medical waste
- exposure to patient care elements including risk of needle punctures
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- one to two years experience in a health care setting preferred
- extensive experience in environmental services procedures
- ability to operate specialized cleaning equipment
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to work effectively as part of a team
- adaptability and tact in customer interactions
Job Duties
- Provide deep cleaning services throughout patient care and common areas
- transport patients and supplies safely
- provide relief for Environmental Services Associates as needed
- assist with supplying and removing linen supplies
- handle medical waste and chemotherapy waste removal
- operate cleaning equipment suitable for various floor surfaces
- adhere to safety guidelines related to exposure to hazardous and medical wastes
