Job Requirements
- no license required
- ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- must be able to lift, bend, push, and pull
- standing and walking approximately eight hours a day
- must not have lifting restrictions
- ability to see well with or without correction at distances of 20 feet and up close
- respect for confidentiality and privacy needs of patients, family, and staff
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED preferred but not required
- ability to operate basic cleaning equipment
- effective communication skills in English
- ability to respect patient confidentiality and privacy
- physical ability to perform demanding cleaning tasks including lifting, bending, and walking for extended periods
- basic knowledge of safety procedures related to equipment operation
- experience in a healthcare or similar environment is a plus but not mandatory
Job Duties
- maintain cleanliness of assigned hospital areas including patient rooms and common spaces
- replenish supplies and dispensable items regularly
- operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuum sweepers and industrial washers
- transport and dispose of waste and soiled materials safely
- comply with health standards set by Joint Commission and State Board of Health
- communicate effectively with patients and staff to support a courteous environment
- assist in maintaining confidentiality and privacy of patients and staff
