Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or general education diploma (ged)
  • experience in environmental or janitorial services preferred
  • ability to operate cleaning and sanitation equipment
  • strong communication skills
  • capability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • good organizational and time management skills
  • ability to work evening and night shifts
  • availability to work every other weekend and variable shifts
  • physical ability to perform cleaning duties including lifting and handling supplies
  • adherence to health and safety standards and protocols

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of sterile environment maintenance and cleaning procedures
  • ability to operate mechanical floor cleaning equipment
  • written and verbal communication skills
  • well-developed time management and organizational abilities

  • problem-solving skills to resolve standard issues
  • ability to build collaborative relationships with staff

Job Duties

  • maintain cleanliness and safety in assigned hospital areas
  • perform general cleaning tasks including patient rooms, offices, and hallways
  • handle trash removal and linen distribution
  • operate environmental service equipment such as floor cleaners, vacuums, washers, and dryers
  • distribute and maintain supply stock levels across departments
  • communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and hospital staff
  • adhere to sanitization and safety protocols complying with local, state, and federal regulations
