Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
  • ability to stand for majority of shift
  • capability to lift and bend frequently
  • ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • ability to use housekeeping equipment
  • no contact with medications is allowed
  • comfort working in a smoke-free environment
  • flexibility to work second shift hours, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Prior housekeeping experience is preferred
  • ability to follow written and verbal instructions to successfully complete housekeeping duties
  • ability to use housekeeping equipment
  • comfortable working in a smoke-free campus environment
  • ability to work second shift hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Make beds following established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned
  • inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair and report problems to the supervisor
  • replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to assure adequate supply
  • clean all assigned areas including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices and equipment following established procedures
  • maintain assigned equipment in clean working condition and report problems and suggestions to the supervisor
  • remove trash from all assigned areas
  • follow all safety and sanitation regulations
  • move equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets as assigned
