Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- no prior experience required
- physical ability to lift push or pull up to 150 pounds occasionally and frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- ability to perceive and distinguish objects visually
- effective speaking and listening skills in English
- ability to use senses of taste and smell to recognize odors and flavors
- motor coordination to stand walk climb stairs push pull and handle tools and equipment
- willingness to work night shifts and flexible schedule as needed
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- physical ability to perform very heavy work including lifting up to 150 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently
- ability to use cleaning equipment and supplies safely
- willingness to attend training on different shifts and demonstrate flexibility
- knowledge of basic infection control and safety practices
Job Duties
- clean patient care areas including operating rooms endoscopy suites patient rooms offices bathrooms and other assigned areas using appropriate cleaning supplies
- operate floor care equipment such as buffers floor scrubbers water vacuums and hand tools
- prepare soiled linen for pick-up by commercial laundry service
- perform waste management activities including refuse garbage rubbish contaminated trash glass and pathological waste disposal
- carry out very heavy physical work including lifting and moving trash and linen bags furniture and equipment
- push pull and lift beds carts liner trash furniture and equipment as needed
- communicate effectively with patients families and other staff recognizing them as important members of the healthcare team
