Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
- Ability to handle physical demands of cleaning duties
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets
- For Crisis Response Center incumbents, ability to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests
- Previous related experience preferred
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- Effective verbal communication and telephone skills
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and use of cleaning chemicals
- Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers
- Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
- Additional related education or experience preferred
Job Duties
- Performs a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy
- Plans the completion of daily cleaning tasks
- Empties hampers and transports of soiled linen, empties trash containers and removes all trash including medical waste and sharps
- Inventories, restocks and replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels and hand soap in all assigned facility areas
- Maintains cleanliness and proper use of departmental equipment, logging use and notifying personnel of repairs
- Performs special projects such as window washing, wall washing, and removal of heavily soiled items or furnishings
- Responds effectively to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors, meeting or exceeding customer service satisfaction goals
