Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to communicate in English
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to maintain clean and safe equipment and work areas
- Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets and product labels
- Ability to follow oral and written assignments
- Environmental services experience within a healthcare environment preferred
- Knowledge of additional languages preferred
- Housekeeping or custodial experience preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Experience in housekeeping or custodial roles preferred
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within environmental services
- Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition
- Basic computer skills including use of a mouse and keyboard
- Ability to operate standard office software
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to interact effectively with patients
- Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets and product labels
- Ability to follow oral and written assignments
- Knowledge of infection control and environmental duties
Job Duties
- Clean assigned patient and public areas daily
- Collect and remove trash
- Sanitize all surfaces
- Stock paper items, cleaning solutions, and other supplies
- Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and isolation procedures
- Operate cleaning equipment properly
- Utilize Bed Management system with hand-held technology
- Collect and stage soiled linen for pick up
- Dispose of normal and biohazardous waste
- Clean and disinfect areas containing bodily fluids
- Document all work performed
- Access ancillary units, restrooms, and offices in assigned areas
