Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to maintain clean and safe equipment and work areas
  • Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets and product labels
  • Ability to follow oral and written assignments
  • Environmental services experience within a healthcare environment preferred
  • Knowledge of additional languages preferred
  • Housekeeping or custodial experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in housekeeping or custodial roles preferred
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within environmental services
  • Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition
  • Basic computer skills including use of a mouse and keyboard
  • Ability to operate standard office software
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with patients
  • Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets and product labels
  • Ability to follow oral and written assignments
  • Knowledge of infection control and environmental duties

Job Duties

  • Clean assigned patient and public areas daily
  • Collect and remove trash
  • Sanitize all surfaces
  • Stock paper items, cleaning solutions, and other supplies
  • Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and isolation procedures
  • Operate cleaning equipment properly
  • Utilize Bed Management system with hand-held technology
  • Collect and stage soiled linen for pick up
  • Dispose of normal and biohazardous waste
  • Clean and disinfect areas containing bodily fluids
  • Document all work performed
  • Access ancillary units, restrooms, and offices in assigned areas
