Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Capability to read and interpret safety data sheets
- Physical ability to perform manual cleaning tasks
- Willingness to work night shifts
- For Crisis Response Center positions, ability to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- Effective verbal and phone communication skills
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and cleaning chemical instructions
- Ability to complete chemical identification stickers accurately
- Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred
Job Duties
- Performs a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures
- Empties hampers and transports of soiled linen
- Empties trash containers and removes all trash including medical waste and sharps
- Inventories, restocks and replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap in assigned areas
- Maintains cleanliness and proper use of departmental equipment, logs out and in equipment and reports repairs
- Performs special projects such as window washing, wall washing, and removing heavily soiled items or furnishings
- Responds to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors, meeting or exceeding customer service satisfaction goals
