Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work independently without continuous supervision
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with others by phone and verbally
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and use of cleaning chemicals
- Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers
- Physical ability to perform various cleaning tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Willingness to work scheduled shifts including days
- For Crisis Response Center assignment, ability to pass food handling certification tests
Job Qualifications
- Previous related experience preferred
- Familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills verbally and by phone
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and cleaning chemical instructions
- Certification in food handling if assigned to Crisis Response Center
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Job Duties
- Performs a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures
- Empties hampers and transports of soiled linen
- Empties trash containers and removes all trash including medical waste and sharps
- Inventories, restocks and replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap in all assigned areas
- Maintains cleanliness of departmental equipment and notifies appropriate personnel as repairs become necessary
- Performs special projects such as window washing, wall washing, and removing heavily soiled items or furnishings
- Responds to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors while meeting or exceeding customer service satisfaction goals
