Job Requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- Ability to plan the completion of assigned tasks daily
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Must be able to handle chemical products safely
- Must be able to follow safety and regulatory requirements
- Ability to meet customer service satisfaction goals
- Must be able to work full time, days, 40 hours per week
Job Qualifications
- Previous related experience preferred
- Familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with others by phone and verbally
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for cleaning chemicals
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Job Duties
- Performs a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures
- Empties hampers and transports of soiled linen
- Empties trash containers and removes all trash
- Empties all medical waste containers including sharps
- Inventories, restocks and replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap, etc. located in all assigned areas of the facility
- Maintains cleanliness of departmental equipment and notifies appropriate personnel as repairs become necessary
- May perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing, removing heavily soiled items or furnishings
- Responds to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors
