Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
ability to perform physical cleaning tasks including dusting mopping scrubbing disinfecting vacuuming and polishing
ability to empty trash and medical waste containers safely
ability to inventory and restock supplies
ability to maintain and protect cleaning equipment
ability to respond effectively to patients staff and visitors
ability to communicate verbally and in writing
willingness to work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week
ability to learn and apply food handling regulations and pass certification tests if assigned to specialized areas
ability to follow safety policies procedures and chemical handling instructions
ability to work independently without continuous supervision

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
previous related experience with environmental services or housekeeping preferred
familiarity with cleaning equipment and techniques preferred
ability to communicate effectively with others by phone and verbally
ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and chemical instructions
capability to work independently and as part of a team
ability to respond to verbal and written instructions
additional related education and experience preferred

Job Duties

Performs a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting mopping scrubbing disinfecting vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures
Empties hampers and transports soiled linen
empties trash containers and removes all trash
empties all medical waste containers including sharps
Inventories restocks and replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue paper towels hand soap etc located in all assigned areas of the facility
Maintains cleanliness of departmental equipment and notifies appropriate personnel as repairs become necessary
protects equipment from damage by proper use
logs out and in equipment that has been used
Performs special projects such as window washing wall washing removing heavily soiled items or furnishings
Responds to questions and requests from patients staff and visitors
meets or exceeds goals for customer service satisfaction
