Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to perform full body motion including lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting and reaching
- Capability to walk and stand continuously on hard surfaces
- Experience handling disinfectants and cleaning chemicals
- Ability to exert 11 to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Willingness to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to learn and follow cleaning procedures and safety protocols
- Strong attention to detail
- Good physical stamina to perform required physical activities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexibility to work PRN shifts including rotating weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Clean ancillary and emergency room areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms and other assigned areas in outpatient non-surgical settings
- Use appropriate cleaning products in wiping down surfaces, cleaning spills, emptying garbage cans, cleaning furniture and other tasks as assigned
- Stock paper items and other supplies in patient rooms, exam rooms and restrooms
- Follow departmental policies and standard operating procedures
- Follow and adhere to all hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements
- Complete one to three months of on-the-job training to learn departmental policies and procedures, various cleaning techniques and proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals
