Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • ability to perform full body motions including lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting and reaching
  • ability to walk and stand continuously on hard surfaces
  • ability to handle disinfectants and cleaning agents safely
  • ability to exert light physical work involving 11 to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds constantly
  • willingness to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment
  • availability to work varying 8-hour shifts including every other weekend and some holidays

Job Qualifications

  • ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures

  • ability to work in a team environment

Job Duties

  • clean patient rooms, ancillary areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, discharge rooms and other assigned areas
  • wipe down surfaces, clean spills, empty garbage cans, clean furniture and other tasks as assigned
  • stock paper items and other supplies in exam rooms and restrooms
  • inform team leader and supervisory team when low on supplies
  • follow departmental policies and standard operating procedures
  • follow and adhere to hospital wide and departmental quality and safety requirements
  • complete one to three months of on-the-job training to learn departmental policies and procedures, various cleaning techniques and proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals
