Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED required
- 0 to 6 months experience required
- ability to read write and perform basic addition and subtraction
- ability to comply with basic oral and written instructions
- physical ability to perform manual cleaning tasks including bending lifting and standing for prolonged periods
- willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties
- cleans patient rooms including emptying trash wiping down bed mattress bed table bedside stand cabinets television window sill and radiator cleaning the bathroom including sink mirror counter shower shower curtain commode and walls spot washing walls dry and wet mopping floors stocking rooms with appropriate supplies stripping and making beds indicates telephonically room availability
- cleans other areas of nursing units and public medical and office areas including nurses stations conference rooms utility rooms bathrooms showers storage rooms offices kitchens hospital entrances waiting areas corridors public and staff rest rooms staff locker rooms sleep rooms offices conference rooms examination rooms treatment rooms emergency rooms pulling trash high and low dusting wiping exposed surfaces replenishing supplies dry and wet mopping spot cleaning walls vacuuming
- responds to requests for STAT cleaning
- performs project work including buffing stripping waxing floors cleaning carpets cleaning and changing mats cleaning upholstered furniture washing windows washing and re-hanging cubical and window curtains and vertical blinds scraping residual paint from fixtures equipment moving equipment furniture supplies and boxes
- stocks cleaning cart and supply closets may mix cleaning solutions from concentrated issue
- reports deficiencies in patient rooms and throughout the hospital to shift supervisor and facilitates management for action
- performs terminal cleaning with use of UV machine in ORs patient rooms patient restrooms and public areas using pre-programmed electronic tablet for timed cleaning cycles and data collection
