Job Requirements
- Fire safety certification within 90 days
- Willingness to follow hospital policies and safety procedures
- Ability to perform cleaning tasks including biohazard disposal
- Capacity to work under supervision and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED preferred
- Previous experience in health care environmental services preferred
Job Duties
- Provides daily patient room cleaning including trash removal high and low dusting dust mopping mopping bathroom cleaning and replenishing dispensers
- Provides discharge patient room cleaning including trash removal sanitizing furniture high and low dusting wall washing the stripping cleaning and making of the bed and replenishing supplies
- Cleans common areas and provides routine corridor cleaning in assigned area
- Follows the hospital and department policies and procedures to perform cleaning of support areas offices supply areas nurses stations waiting areas utility rooms etc.
- Maintains adequate supplies for standard precautions and properly utilizes isolation techniques
- Handles biohazardous waste properly including the changing of sharps containers
