Job Duties
- Coordinates with the nursing staff and supervisor to clean occupied rooms first, checks empty rooms, attends to emergency cleaning for spills
- Uses appropriate cleaning agents and techniques in washing and cleaning patient rooms daily
- Uses appropriate cleaning agents and techniques in washing and cleaning restrooms, washes basins, commodes, tubs and showers, checks and cleans mirrors, soap dishes, water pipes and exterior surfaces
- Performs periodic detail cleaning such as I.V. poles, blood pressure cuff leads, suction bottles, closets inside and out, curtains or blinds
- Dry mops and damp mops corridors, spot washes corridor and elevator landings
- Maintains all carpets by vacuuming, extracting, bonnet cleaning and spot cleaning as needed
- Hangs curtains if needed and checks the condition of cleaning equipment, cleans equipment upon return, reports any maintenance or repairs needed immediately
- Continuously displays a can do attitude and provides customer service by greeting patients, assisting visitors, acknowledging family members, and reporting patient needs
- Uses appropriate cleaning agents and techniques in washing and cleaning precaution (isolation) patient rooms wearing proper protective clothing
- Demonstrates knowledge of mixing cleaning agents and proper use of each agent
