Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Up to three months to become proficient in all aspects of the position
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Availability to work night shift from 11PM to 7:30AM
- Willingness to work every weekend and every holiday
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job
- Ability to use cleaning agents correctly
- Willingness to display a positive and helpful attitude
- Ability to comply with hospital safety and privacy protocols
Job Qualifications
- Equivalent to two years of high school preferred
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Customer service skills
- Ability to work independently during night shifts
- Familiarity with hospital cleaning protocols preferred
- Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment
- Attention to detail and thoroughness
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks
Job Duties
- Coordinate with nursing staff and supervisor to clean occupied rooms first
- Use appropriate cleaning agents and techniques in washing and cleaning patient rooms daily including bucket cleaning, damp mopping or vacuuming floors, dusting furniture and removing debris
- Clean restrooms thoroughly by washing basins, commodes, tubs, showers, mirrors, soap dishes, water pipes and exterior surfaces
- Perform periodic detail cleaning including IV poles, blood pressure cuff leads, suction bottles, closets, curtains and blinds
- Dry mop and damp mop corridors and spot wash corridor and elevator landings
- Maintain carpets by vacuuming, extracting, bonnet cleaning and spot cleaning
- Check and clean own cleaning equipment and report any maintenance or repairs needed immediately
- Display a positive customer service attitude including greeting patients and assisting visitors
- Use proper protective clothing and cleaning techniques when cleaning precaution (isolation) patient rooms
- Knowledge of mixing cleaning agents and proper use of each agent
