Job Requirements
- Minimal education
- Ability to read and write English
- Physical ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- See in the normal visual range with or without correction
- Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
- Ability to climb intermittently during the day
- Ability to push/pull 70-150 pounds
- Ability to lift 10-40 pounds
- Some exposure to chemicals, bioburden, and cleaning products
Job Qualifications
- Minimal education
- Ability to read and write English
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures
- Physical ability to perform demanding cleaning tasks
Job Duties
- Assumes responsibility for general cleanliness of assigned areas such as patient areas, residence areas, offices, laboratories, restrooms, exam rooms, treatment rooms, lobbies
- Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System
- Cleans and maintains sanitary conditions in patient care and public areas
- Uses appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment safely
- Follows infection control procedures and safety protocols
- Manages physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, and climbing during cleaning activities
- Coordinates with other departments to ensure cleanliness and readiness of patient and facility areas
