Job Requirements

One year of related experience
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stretch for the majority of the shift
Ability to push heavy loaded carts and lift between 30-60 lbs
Occasional ladder climbing
Willingness to work in environments with exposure to dirt, dust, blood, body and contaminated waste
Ability to handle potential cuts and needle punctures
Capability to work in non-patient areas with minimal hazards
Manual dexterity for manipulating equipment and keyboard use
Ability to communicate effectively in English
Ability to read and understand procedures and directions in English
Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
Ability to maintain organization in changing environments
Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Three years of related experience preferably in a hospital setting
Bilingual skills preferred
Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities
Thorough knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety regulations
Ability to operate heavy-duty cleaning equipment
Effective communication skills in English both verbal and written
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment
Familiarity with infection control and hazardous waste handling
Ability to perform quality assurance inspections and report findings

Job Duties

Completes weekly projects as designated by the supervisor
Coordinates all assigned project work for shifts and communicates progress with other shift leads
Reports equipment problems to supervisor
Ensures employees are properly equipped and supplied
Follows procedures for infection control, chemical control, hazardous waste disposal and handling
Practices proper work safety and body mechanics
Performs shift check-in and facility rounds
Operates heavy-duty cleaning equipment such as wet vacuums, buffers, floor machines, and pressure washers
Maintains accurate inventory and record keeping for laundry services
Assists with marking, cleaning, and washing linens and cleaning materials
Supports setup and cleanup during facility functions
Successfully completes competency assessments
Covers shifts as necessary to ensure adequate coverage
Allocates resources effectively across the facility
Conducts quality assurance inspections and enforces corrective actions
Coordinates small furniture moves and room setups
Leads monthly employee safety committee meetings and safety inspections
Maintains professionalism during difficult situations
