Job Requirements
- high school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- ability to maintain a sterile environment using proper cleaning procedures and various equipment
- ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- good written and verbal communication skills
- well-developed time management and organizational skills
- ability to operate basic environmental service equipment including mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, washers, and dryers
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- willing to work evening shifts and every other weekend
- ability to adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations including handling hazardous drugs according to NIOSH and USP 800 guidelines

Job Duties
- maintain a clean, attractive, and safe environment in assigned areas
- perform a variety of cleaning, transport, equipment handling, room set-up, trash removal, and linen handling duties
- clean patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned facility areas
- distribute supplies to departments and maintain stock levels
- adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures related to sanitization and safety
- operate basic environmental service equipment such as mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, washers, and dryers
- build collaborative relationships with peers and hospital personnel to achieve departmental and corporate objectives
