Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of maintaining a sterile environment including proper cleaning procedures
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram or schedule instructions
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to operate environmental service equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in an interruptive environment
  • Problem-solving skills to select appropriate solutions from established options
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and staff

Job Duties

  • Maintain a clean, attractive and safe environment in assigned areas
  • Perform cleaning of patient rooms, offices, hallways and other facility areas
  • Handle transport, equipment, room setup, trash removal, and linen management duties
  • Distribute supplies to departments and maintain stock levels
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, patients, and hospital personnel
  • Adhere to local, state and federal sanitization and safety regulations
  • Operate basic environmental service equipment such as floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, washers, and dryers
