Job Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to carry out the duties of the position
  • Prior experience in institutional environmental services is preferred

Job Duties

  • Keeps patient and non-patient areas of the facility clean, safe and orderly condition
  • Cleans hospital patient rooms, baths, showers, laboratories, offices, corridors, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other areas as assigned using approved cleaners and hospital approved germicide
  • Strips linen from beds, washes beds and mattresses using hospital approved germicide, remakes beds after discharge
  • Dusts furniture and equipment, empties waste baskets, trash, recycling and medical waste containers, washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels and sills, polishes metalwork such as fixtures and fittings
  • Sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using required products and equipment
