Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Housekeeping or custodial experience preferred
- Knowledge of infection control practices
- Ability to maintain equipment and work areas clean and safe
- Ability to communicate in English
- Basic computer skills and use of mouse and keyboard
- Must be able to operate a computer using standard office software
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to interact with patients
- Must be able to read and understand safety data sheets product labels various reports and perform basic arithmetic
- Must be able to follow oral and written assignments and have full knowledge of basic environmental duties
Job Qualifications

- Environmental services experience within a healthcare environment preferred
- Housekeeping or custodial experience preferred
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts practices and procedures within environmental services
- Ability to maintain equipment and work areas clean and safe
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to communicate in English
- Basic computer skills including use of mouse and keyboard
- Must be able to operate a computer using standard office software
- Ability to read and understand safety data sheets product labels reports and perform basic arithmetic
- Must be able to follow oral and written assignments and understand basic environmental duties
- Ability to interact with patients
- Knowledge of additional languages preferred
Job Duties
- Clean assigned patient and public areas daily including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing surfaces
- Stock paper items cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary
- Demonstrate knowledge of infection control isolation procedures and proper operation of cleaning equipment
- Utilize bed management system using hand-held technology for tracking bed flow
- Collect and stage soiled linen for pick up and dispose of normal and biohazardous waste
- Clean and disinfect areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards
- Document all work performed and access ancillary units restrooms and offices in assigned areas
