Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 30 to 40 pounds repeatedly
- Ability to bend frequently, push and pull work carts

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Six months of customer service-related work experience
- Completion of Environmental Services Department training program
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated reliability and attention to detail
Job Duties
- Follows department procedures to ensure a safe environment
- Sets up equipment and prepares necessary supplies
- Corrects observed discrepancies immediately such as spills or overflowing trash
- Completes scheduled housekeeping assignments according to procedure
- Reports uncompleted assignments and discrepancies to supervisors
- Ensures chemical containers are properly labeled and solutions are correct
- Maintains clean and orderly storage areas such as porter closets
- Performs general housekeeping including dusting vents, cleaning furniture, walls, and windows
- Maintains bathrooms by cleaning all fixtures and refilling dispensers
- Collects and properly disposes of sharps and medical waste
- Cleans patient rooms on discharge including mattresses and equipment
- Maintains floors by dust mopping, damp mopping, and vacuuming without buildup
- Conducts trash removal including recycling, confidential documents, and medical waste transport
- Ensures safe handling and disposal of contaminated items
- Responds promptly to spill clean-ups and safety concerns
- Maintains bed management system and ensures timely patient room turnover
- Communicates effectively and supports the patient care team
- Adheres to all hospital policies and procedures and completes tasks timely and accurately
