Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to work with cleaning chemicals safely
- Ability to complete on-the-job training
- Must pass physical evaluation, urine drug screen, and pre-employment background checks
- Commitment to follow infection control and safety procedures
- Must participate in COVID-19 vaccination program or have approved exemption
- Must maintain current hospital requirements including TB Skin Test, Fit Testing, Net Learning
Job Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work with cleaning solutions and chemicals with knowledge of proper handling
- Demonstrated ability to complete on-the-job training including operational procedures for cleaning equipment and tools
- Knowledge of health and sanitation standards
- Required to read and understand written instructions and labels
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, healthcare staff, and environmental service employees
Job Duties
- Maintain a safe, clean working environment including unit based safety and infection control requirements
- Clean and maintain assigned areas according to TCMC standards
- Maintain a safe environment at all times including proper use of wet floor signs
- Use appropriate protective equipment while performing duties including proper hand washing and sanitizing
- Understand the role and responsibility in the event of a disaster
- Clean discharge and occupied rooms according to departmental training checklist
- Maintain professional and courteous customer service
- Maintain current status with hospital requirements such as TB Skin Test, Fit Testing, and Net Learning
