Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be able to work with cleaning solutions and chemicals
  • Ability to follow written instructions and safety labels
  • Ability to pass a physical evaluation, urine drug screen, and pre-employment background checks
  • Participation in TCMC COVID-19 vaccination program as per state mandates

Job Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to work with cleaning solutions and chemicals with proper handling knowledge
  • Ability to complete on-the-job training including operational procedures for cleaning equipment and tools
  • Knowledge of health and sanitation standards
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions and labels
  • Strong communication skills to interact with supervisors, healthcare staff, and environmental service employees

Job Duties

  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment including unit-based safety and infection control requirements
  • Clean and maintain assigned areas according to TCMC standards
  • Maintain a safe environment at all times including the proper use of wet floor signs
  • Use appropriate protective equipment while performing duties including proper hand washing and hand sanitizing
  • Understand the role and responsibility in the event of a disaster
  • Clean discharge and occupied rooms according to the departmental training checklist
  • Maintain professional and courteous customer service at all times
