Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must be able to work with cleaning solutions and chemicals
- Ability to follow written instructions and safety labels
- Ability to pass a physical evaluation, urine drug screen, and pre-employment background checks
- Participation in TCMC COVID-19 vaccination program as per state mandates
Job Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work with cleaning solutions and chemicals with proper handling knowledge
- Ability to complete on-the-job training including operational procedures for cleaning equipment and tools
- Knowledge of health and sanitation standards
- Ability to read and understand written instructions and labels
- Strong communication skills to interact with supervisors, healthcare staff, and environmental service employees
Job Duties
- Maintain a safe, clean working environment including unit-based safety and infection control requirements
- Clean and maintain assigned areas according to TCMC standards
- Maintain a safe environment at all times including the proper use of wet floor signs
- Use appropriate protective equipment while performing duties including proper hand washing and hand sanitizing
- Understand the role and responsibility in the event of a disaster
- Clean discharge and occupied rooms according to the departmental training checklist
- Maintain professional and courteous customer service at all times
