Job Requirements
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Flexible to work full-time evening shifts from 4 pm to 12:30 am
- Willing to work rotating weekend and holiday shifts
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Basic knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting techniques
Job Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in housekeeping or environmental services preferred but not required
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Understanding of infection control procedures
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Job Duties
- Dust, damp mop, spot clean and disinfect fixtures and furnishings in patient and non-patient areas
- Vacuum and spot clean mats and carpets as assigned
- Empty, clean and re-line waste baskets
- Transport regular and contaminated waste to the utility room
- Wash and disinfect bed/crib at discharge and prepare bed for new occupant
- Follow isolation cleaning procedures to prevent the spread of pathogens
- Clean and disinfect daily bathroom fixtures, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls
- Notify supervisor when supplies in the Environmental Services storage room are low
- Write work orders when repairs are needed
- Maintain tools and equipment and use supplies economically
- Attend in-services, required meetings, and other educational programs to enhance professional growth
