Job Requirements
- No education required
- No licensure or certification required
- Ability to perform physical cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping and waste removal
- Availability to work full time, 40 hours per week
- Willingness to commit to day shift schedule
- Ability to work onsite at UNC Rex Healthcare facilities
- Compliance with hospital policies and safety standards
Job Qualifications
- No prior experience required
- Ability to follow prescribed cleaning procedures
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as floor strippers and carpet extractors
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to train and lead team members
- Basic computer skills for data entry related to bed tracking system
Job Duties
- Clean occupied patient rooms including dusting and disinfecting
- Clean discharge rooms promptly for incoming patients
- Clean support and critical care areas such as nurses stations, lounges, ICUs and isolation rooms
- Enter data into the bed tracking system
- Inspect ancillary and patient areas and projects
- Serve as a team leader by planning and scheduling tasks, making work assignments, training staff and inspecting hospital areas
- Strip, wax, dust mop, damp mop floors and maintain carpets
- Train and instruct new housekeepers on proper hospital policies and procedures
