Job Duties
- Maintains an optimistic, professional, career oriented demeanor
- performs full range cleaning tasks in assigned area including dusting, wall washing, fixture cleaning, floor mopping, vacuuming, and spot cleaning
- selects, measures, and mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals
- assembles, returns, cleans, and stores materials and equipment
- services dispensers with paper and soap products
- removes and disposes of solid waste, sharps, regulated medical waste and pharmaceutical waste
- exercises safe work habits
- handles communication devices
- submits work orders for maintenance needs
- maintains positive attendance and punctuality
- understands disaster, fire safety, equipment care, and Material Safety Data Sheets
- performs cleaning in various hospital and clinical areas
- demonstrates cultural competence in patient interactions
- attends in-service education programs
- performs special tasks including patient room care, STAT and end of shift bed cleaning
- follows proper protocols for floor and carpet care
- cleans upholstery
- participates in furniture movement for events
- receives and distributes cleaning supplies
- operates laundry equipment and maintains work area
- manages hazardous waste disposal according to regulations
- performs additional assigned duties
