Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • One year housekeeping or environmental services experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Certified Auto External Defibrillator (AED) preferred
  • Ability to follow safety and infection control protocols
  • Ability to work full time or part time
  • Capacity to perform physical cleaning tasks including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to adhere to schedules and perform duties promptly
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • One year housekeeping or environmental services experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Certified Auto External Defibrillator (AED) training preferred
  • Ability to use cleaning agents and equipment safely
  • Knowledge of infection control standards
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Cleans all assigned areas including patient rooms, bathrooms, corridors, public areas, elevators, and ancillary areas such as nurses’ stations and laboratories by sweeping, washing, mopping, dusting, disinfecting, and sanitizing
  • Uses the correct cleaners for the intended task and labels and stores chemicals safely and properly
  • Restocks supplies and cleans carts daily to maintain smooth operations including paper goods, soaps, chemicals, and reusable items
  • Maintains a safe patient care environment by complying with RHS, DNV, State, and regulatory standards
  • Follows guidelines for proper body mechanics, hazardous materials handling, and universal precautions to prevent accidents and injuries
  • Assures safe practices according to National Patient Safety Goals and RHS policies and procedures
  • Performs cleaning duties in a timely, safe, and thorough manner in compliance with Infection Control Standards
  • Ensures assignments are completed timely with quality infection control measures
  • Monitors cleanliness continuously to maintain high quality and order according to policies and schedules
