Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • prior housekeeping or environmental services experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • ability to perform physical cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing
  • knowledge of safety and infection control standards
  • ability to use and store cleaning chemicals properly
  • good communication skills
  • ability to respond to requests in a positive and timely manner

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • one year prior housekeeping or environmental services experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • certified auto external defibrillator (AED) certification preferred through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute
  • knowledge of infection control standards
  • ability to operate cleaning equipment safely
  • effective communication skills

Job Duties

  • Clean all assigned areas including resident areas, bathrooms, corridors, public areas, elevators, and ancillary areas such as nurses' stations, laboratories, lounges, locker rooms
  • use correct cleaners for intended tasks and safely label and store chemicals
  • restock supplies and clean carts daily to maintain smooth operations
  • respond promptly to customer requests and communicate concerns to the appropriate departments
  • ensure safe cleaning practices according to National Patient Safety Goals and Infection Control Standards
  • perform cleaning duties timely and thoroughly including dusting, sanitizing, trash removal
  • monitor and maintain assigned areas continuously to ensure highest quality of cleanliness according to policies and schedules
