  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Able to read and write English
  • Possesses basic math skills
  • Three months customer service or cleaning experience preferred
  • No licensure or certifications required

  • Physical stamina to walk and stand for approximately 90% of work time
  • Ability to squat, kneel, lift, bend, and twist as required
  • Able to lift 40 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to utilize safe body mechanics

Job Duties

  • Perform a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain areas such as patient towers, public areas, exam rooms, offices
  • Clean all surfaces
  • Disinfect all surfaces
  • Dust all surfaces
  • Replenish all supplies
  • Spot clean carpet and upholstery
  • Clean up spills
  • Change linen and make beds
  • Operate vacuum cleaning equipment
  • Dust mop and damp mop floors, stairs, and landings
  • Dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste
  • Report needed equipment repair and all unsafe situations
  • Identify safety risks, provide feedback and help address safety issues
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining an environment that is clean and conducive to patients, visitors, and co-workers' well-being and safety
  • Demonstrate a positive demeanor that contributes to a culture of trust, respect, and teamwork
  • Follow our Service Excellence Standards
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers (i.e., active listening, professionalism, appropriate tone of voice and language)
  • Assist in the training of staff to perform Environmental Services duties
  • Participate in department and unit activities to improve quality and patient care
  • Assist in keeping corridors clear of clutter, equipment, furniture, etc. for safety and aesthetic purposes
