Job Requirements
- Excellent skills in written and oral communication
- basic computer skills with word processing and database use
- ability to inspect indoor and outdoor areas for compliance
- ability to communicate effectively verbally, non-verbally, and in writing
- ability to travel by plane and auto
- ability to walk, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs
- willingness to wear required safety equipment such as hair/beard net, safety glasses, and ear plugs
- ability to perform physical activities such as twisting, bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or related field
- preferred master’s degree or professional designations like OHST, ASP, or CSP
- five years of management experience in environment, health, and safety
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- proficiency with word processing and database applications
Job Duties
- Develop health and safety procedures and programs for all departments
- monitor safety compliance to reduce risks
- maintain contingency plans including fire prevention and hazardous spill control
- supervise maintenance of material safety data sheets
- develop inspection policies and establish inspection schedules
- supervise training sessions on emergency preparedness and safety topics
- maintain EPA records and ensure OSHA compliance
- monitor professional literature and attend seminars to stay current with regulations
