Job Requirements

  • Excellent skills in written and oral communication
  • basic computer skills with word processing and database use
  • ability to inspect indoor and outdoor areas for compliance
  • ability to communicate effectively verbally, non-verbally, and in writing
  • ability to travel by plane and auto
  • ability to walk, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • willingness to wear required safety equipment such as hair/beard net, safety glasses, and ear plugs
  • ability to perform physical activities such as twisting, bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or related field
  • preferred master’s degree or professional designations like OHST, ASP, or CSP
  • five years of management experience in environment, health, and safety
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • proficiency with word processing and database applications

Job Duties

  • Develop health and safety procedures and programs for all departments
  • monitor safety compliance to reduce risks
  • maintain contingency plans including fire prevention and hazardous spill control
  • supervise maintenance of material safety data sheets
  • develop inspection policies and establish inspection schedules
  • supervise training sessions on emergency preparedness and safety topics
  • maintain EPA records and ensure OSHA compliance
  • monitor professional literature and attend seminars to stay current with regulations
