Job Duties
- maintains a cleaning cart in an orderly condition with required supplies
- removes all waste including regular rubbish, cardboard, recycle paper, and hazardous material
- uses appropriate chemicals and tools to dust and disinfect floors
- empties and cleans waste receptacles and replaces liners
- cleans and disinfects bathrooms including replenishing supplies
- replenishes all necessary supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels
- disinfects and cleans patient rooms including making beds after discharge
- transports linen hampers to designated areas and replaces linen bags
- performs project cleaning work such as wall washing, cubicle changing, and window washing
- damp dusts, polishes, and disinfects furniture and carpets
- assists with setting up and cleaning after hospital functions
- operates heavy duty electrical cleaning equipment
- collects and disposes of needle boxes following protocols
- reports equipment problems to supervisor
- completes daily inspections of assigned areas
- follows infection control practices
- responsible for all work assigned to the crew for the shift
- may perform cleaning and sanitization of operating rooms including disposal of hazardous biological waste
