Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-2 years of experience in entry level support mechanic roles within baggage handling or automated material handling systems
  • ability to clear and reset operational issues including jams
  • mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance
  • positive and professional attitude
  • ability to work in fast-paced, noisy, and variable temperature environments
  • flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • physical ability to walk and stand frequently in large airport facilities

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-2 years of experience for entry level support mechanic in baggage handling systems and/or automated systems in material handling industries operations and maintenance
  • ability to clear, reset, and address any operational issues such as jams
  • ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical related issues
  • must be able to obtain and maintain airport security clearance
  • positive, professional attitude and demeanor
  • solutions focused while maintaining the highest level of customer service

Job Duties

  • perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance including dismantling, repair and rebuilding of equipment
  • responsible for maintaining all mechanical components within the system
  • installation inspection, assessment, maintenance, repair, and/or refurbish all mechanical parts, components and/or assemblies within the system
  • ensure baggage is moving optimally along the system, clear and monitor potential jams
  • cleaning of the system and surrounding areas
  • diagnosing, adjusting and/or resetting improper functions
  • maintain and operate the ICS according to the OEM manuals
  • perform other duties as required
