Job Requirements

  • bachelor’s of science in civil or electrical engineering
  • engineer in training (EIT) certification is preferred
  • 0-3 years experience in the field of traffic engineering
  • familiarity with ITS technologies and wireless communications is a plus
  • familiarity with NJDOT, NJTA, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, and/or PANYNJ highway projects preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • work with a team of engineers, planners, and technicians on roadway and transit projects
  • perform field investigations, assisting in traffic analysis, design, and construction support tasks
  • ability to learn planning and design aspects of projects
  • prepare construction cost estimates and quantities
  • design traffic signals and signal timings per agency standards
  • prepare traffic signal plans
  • experienced in or have the ability to learn traffic modeling
