Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • three months to one year of experience cooking in a comparable establishment
  • must have or obtain a current food handlers permit within 30 days
  • ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly
  • ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds frequently
  • ability to lift and/or move more than 100 pounds occasionally
  • availability to work weekends and holidays
  • ability to follow directions and work in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • Three months to one year of experience cooking in a comparable establishment
  • good working knowledge of fresh seasonal produce, meat, and poultry preparation
  • must have or obtain a current food handlers permit within 30 days of employment
  • ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily
  • must be 18 years of age or older

Job Duties

  • Read and follow directions on the daily prep list
  • prepare foods in the correct quantity and preparation style as shown by a supervisor
  • properly season and taste food preparation to ensure it meets standards
  • maintain a clean and safe workspace
  • organize and store food deliveries daily as directed
  • use basic knife skills and proper handling techniques
  • read and follow basic recipe directions
  • operate kitchen equipment such as stove, oven, fryer, blenders, and mixers
  • properly label and date food preparation using FIFO
  • store prepared foods correctly
  • follow cleaning procedures for kitchen equipment
  • support recycling efforts for metal and plastic
  • minimize food waste during preparation
  • clean kitchen prep areas completely before checking out
  • assist in the Employee Café or other food outlets as directed
  • contribute to a positive work environment
