Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- three months to one year of experience cooking in a comparable establishment
- must have or obtain a current food handlers permit within 30 days
- ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly
- ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds frequently
- ability to lift and/or move more than 100 pounds occasionally
- availability to work weekends and holidays
- ability to follow directions and work in a team environment
Job Qualifications
- Three months to one year of experience cooking in a comparable establishment
- good working knowledge of fresh seasonal produce, meat, and poultry preparation
- must have or obtain a current food handlers permit within 30 days of employment
- ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily
- must be 18 years of age or older
Job Duties
- Read and follow directions on the daily prep list
- prepare foods in the correct quantity and preparation style as shown by a supervisor
- properly season and taste food preparation to ensure it meets standards
- maintain a clean and safe workspace
- organize and store food deliveries daily as directed
- use basic knife skills and proper handling techniques
- read and follow basic recipe directions
- operate kitchen equipment such as stove, oven, fryer, blenders, and mixers
- properly label and date food preparation using FIFO
- store prepared foods correctly
- follow cleaning procedures for kitchen equipment
- support recycling efforts for metal and plastic
- minimize food waste during preparation
- clean kitchen prep areas completely before checking out
- assist in the Employee Café or other food outlets as directed
- contribute to a positive work environment
