Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary degree preferred
- At least 1 year of cooking experience in a hotel or restaurant environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and supervisors
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights
- Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
- Possession of current California Food Handlers Certification
- Commitment to maintain hygiene and safety standards
- Willingness to follow Hyatt’s service and culinary procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under supervision and training
Job Qualifications
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
- Refined verbal communication skills
- 2 years of previous line experience preferred
- Candidate should be able to perform all basic cooking skills
- Able to work single station in the kitchen
- Culinary degree or related hotel experience is preferred
- Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time
- Flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
- Must have physical stamina to lift, push, and pull moderate amounts of weight
- California Food Handlers Certification required
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned kitchen stations
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure timely service
- Adhere to portion control and quality standards
