Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • At least 1 year of cooking experience in a hotel or restaurant environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and supervisors
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights
  • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
  • Possession of current California Food Handlers Certification
  • Commitment to maintain hygiene and safety standards
  • Willingness to follow Hyatt’s service and culinary procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently under supervision and training

Job Qualifications

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
  • Refined verbal communication skills
  • 2 years of previous line experience preferred
  • Candidate should be able to perform all basic cooking skills
  • Able to work single station in the kitchen
  • Culinary degree or related hotel experience is preferred
  • Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time
  • Flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have physical stamina to lift, push, and pull moderate amounts of weight
  • California Food Handlers Certification required

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes and standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned kitchen stations
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure timely service
  • Adhere to portion control and quality standards
