Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Completion of department-based training with demonstrated competence
- Ability to maintain professionalism and diplomacy in all interactions
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to handle conflict resolution and service recovery
- Capability to assist patients and families with mobility needs
- Must comply with hospital vaccine requirements including MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza
- Ability to work early morning shifts and every other weekend
- Physical ability to perform cleaning and patient assistance duties
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Completion of department-based training with demonstrated competence
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred
Job Duties
- Present an excellent first impression to all customers by greeting promptly with a warm and friendly reception
- Provide hospital way-finding for patients and visitors
- Support patient, family, guest information needs, including appropriate hospital resources to assist in problem resolution
- Maintain a clean and tidy first impression by cleaning the lobbies, entrances and outside the doorways
- Maintain professionalism and diplomacy at all times, following specific standards as defined in the department professionalism policy
- Perform service recovery and conflict resolution for unhappy guests
- Assist patients and families in and out of their vehicles at hospital entrances
- Maintain proper traffic controls at entrances to avoid congestion and prohibit illegal parking
- Work with security and valet teams as needed
- Locate, clean and maintain wheelchairs and scooters throughout the hospital and campus
- Provide liaison activities between clinical staff, physicians, and patient companions in surgical areas
- Assist with lost and found services as needed
- Assist with transportation needs such as cab and bus vouchers
- Utilize effective communication skills tailored to specific age, culture, and developmental needs
