Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Completion of department-based training with demonstrated competence
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and diplomacy in all interactions
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to handle conflict resolution and service recovery
  • Capability to assist patients and families with mobility needs
  • Must comply with hospital vaccine requirements including MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza
  • Ability to work early morning shifts and every other weekend
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning and patient assistance duties

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Completion of department-based training with demonstrated competence
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred

Job Duties

  • Present an excellent first impression to all customers by greeting promptly with a warm and friendly reception
  • Provide hospital way-finding for patients and visitors
  • Support patient, family, guest information needs, including appropriate hospital resources to assist in problem resolution
  • Maintain a clean and tidy first impression by cleaning the lobbies, entrances and outside the doorways
  • Maintain professionalism and diplomacy at all times, following specific standards as defined in the department professionalism policy
  • Perform service recovery and conflict resolution for unhappy guests
  • Assist patients and families in and out of their vehicles at hospital entrances
  • Maintain proper traffic controls at entrances to avoid congestion and prohibit illegal parking
  • Work with security and valet teams as needed
  • Locate, clean and maintain wheelchairs and scooters throughout the hospital and campus
  • Provide liaison activities between clinical staff, physicians, and patient companions in surgical areas
  • Assist with lost and found services as needed
  • Assist with transportation needs such as cab and bus vouchers
  • Utilize effective communication skills tailored to specific age, culture, and developmental needs
