Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- familiarity with cleaning products and procedures
- ability to work independently and at a fast pace
- good physical condition to carry supplies and perform cleaning duties
- punctuality and reliability
- willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
- comply with Amtrak drug and alcohol policies
- legal authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- familiar with cleaning products and supplies both commercial and residential
- working knowledge of cleaning standards and procedures
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- knowledge of The Cleaning Industry Management Standards preferred
- knowledge of Green Seal Cleaning Standards preferred
Job Duties
- follow all Amtrak policies, standards and procedures as directed by supervisor
- physically able to carry supplies, bend, reach, etc
- report supply shortages to supervisor
- report maintenance issues to conductor or train attendant
- stock their own cleaning kit
- make announcements as specified
- work nights, weekends, and occasional holidays
- use cleaning products and supplies as directed to clean bathrooms
- empty waste bins in bathrooms and rest of car
- sweep and mop floors
- remove debris and trash from floors and seat backs
- wipe and dry seats with spilled liquids
- mop vestibule if wet from snow or rain
