Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree in Business or Human Services related field preferred
  • Eligible to become Certified Indiana Navigator and Federal Certified Application Counselor within three months of employment
  • Continuing education requirements for both certifications
  • Previous work experience in medical setting preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Driving record meeting Meridian’s requirements
  • Reliable transportation
  • Proof of auto insurance

Job Duties

  • Schedule appointments to assist clients and community members in completing Medicaid, SNAP, HIP, CHIP and Marketplace applications
  • Conduct public education activities to raise awareness about coverage options available under Medicaid, CHIP, and the Marketplace
  • Provide referrals to health insurance consumer assistance or ombudsman offices to address consumer grievances and questions
  • Conduct enrollment activity at outreach events when appropriate
  • Demonstrate capacity to conduct "in reach" and "outreach" activities with patients and residents in the approved service area
  • Educate consumers and assist with Medicaid re-determinations when requested
  • Assist consumers with updating insurance plans after life changing events
  • Assist clients through the appeal process, including initiating appeal requests, providing updated medical records, and attending hearings
