Job Requirements

  • minimum one year experience in hotel or related field
  • ability to lift heavy objects up to 100 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • at least one year of experience in a hotel or related field
  • two years of progressive experience preferred
  • trade school or college coursework in related field preferred
  • strong mechanical and electrical repair skills
  • ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
  • supervisory experience preferred
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to multitask and prioritize
  • problem-solving capabilities
  • knowledge of local, state and federal maintenance codes
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • proactive and initiative-taking mindset

Job Duties

  • Make repairs to hotel air conditioning system including changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors
  • perform preventive maintenance on all equipment such as boilers, chillers, HVAC, and electrical systems
  • take required equipment readings and test cooling towers
  • replace and program televisions
  • replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures
  • perform furniture repairs
  • replace and repair pumps
  • perform plumbing repairs including clogged drains, copper pipe, washers, handles, and fittings
  • read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams
  • trace and repair all types of water lines
  • troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment
  • maintain repair and preventive maintenance records
  • ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes
  • test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas
  • paint designated areas
  • repair and finish sheet rock
  • repair all types of wall coverings
  • repair and program hotel electronic lock systems
  • assist in supervising engineering staff
  • assist in scheduling preventive maintenance tasks
