Job Requirements

  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors
  • Ability to scrupulously follow all StepStone and hotel policies and procedures
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations
  • Must have exceptional mathematical and computer skills
  • High school education and relevant training and experience required
  • Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates
  • CPR training required
  • First aid training preferred
  • Additional language ability preferred
  • Several years of experience in engineering and maintenance preferably within the hospitality industry, is essential
  • Degree in Engineering or related field is preferred and technical training in HVAC, plumbing or electrical systems is also beneficial

Job Duties

  • Maintain the hotel including guest rooms, public areas, and back of house spaces
  • Issue work requests to Engineering staff including routine maintenance and emergency repairs
  • Manage team of engineers and provide guidance and support
  • Develop and upkeep preventative maintenance program including inspections and timely repairs
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards
  • Manage emergency response plans and safety training for staff
  • Track maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment service schedules
