Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in building maintenance preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general construction
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or in confined spaces
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Physically demanding role may involve long periods of standing, bending, lifting, or working in high or confined spaces
  • May be exposed to loud noises, extreme temperatures, or hazardous materials
  • Uniform and safety equipment typically provided

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational training or technical certification preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in building maintenance preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general construction
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or in confined spaces
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • EPA certification or other relevant licenses are a plus

Job Duties

  • Perform general maintenance tasks including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems such as HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
  • Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution
  • Maintain the physical appearance of the hotel including interior and exterior areas
  • Assist in preventive maintenance schedules for guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas
  • Monitor and operate building automation systems and respond to alerts or alarms
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and hotel policies
  • Report any major repair needs or hazards to the Chief Engineer
  • Assist other departments with set-ups, moves, and minor repairs as needed
  • Stay up to date on safety protocols and participate in emergency procedures or drills
